How to Cook Cherry Bourbon Glazed Baked Ham

0
Ingredients:
6-8 lbs. bone-in spiral cut ham
1 (13-oz.) Cherry jar preserves
1/2 c. bourbon
2 tablespoons honey
1/4 tsp ground cloves
1/4 tsp cayenne

Procedure:
1. Preheat oven to 325 °. Place the ham on a rack in a large skillet. Cover with foil lid.
2. Bake ham until internal temperature reaches 120 ° to 130 °, about 2 hours.
3. Meanwhile, make the glaze: In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the preserves, bourbon, honey, cloves, and cayenne. Boil, then reduce heat and let simmer, stirring occasionally, until liquid is slightly reduced, about 10 minutes. The glaze will thicken as it cools.
4. After the ham reaches at least 120 °, remove from the oven and remove the foil. Brush about half of the glaze, centered between all the slices.
5. Place back in the oven, uncovered for 15 minutes. Remove from oven again and brush the remaining glaze across the top and between the slices again.
6. Place back in the oven and continue to cook until the ham reaches an internal temperature of 145 °, another 15 to 20 minutes. Let the ham cool for 10 minutes before carving.
